I like the idea of bringing in guys from Europe, Latin America, and Africa who are borderline NBA draft picks, late first or second round project picks. I think KY could sell these guys on coming to BYU for a season or two, getting paid some NIL that compares to pay in Europe or that compares to what a second-round pick might receive, and then developing those players into higher draft picks. Second-round guys are guaranteed nothing in the NBA and may or may not make it in the league, might play a lot in the G League, and might develop, or they might not. KY can sell that he is a development coach and that these guys could make as much money, guaranteed, if they come to BYU, and then they can explore the NBA or Europe later if the NBA doesn't work out.
