Instead of a "safe" and "predictable" hire, like Madsen or Burgess, BYU swung for the fences.

Anyone coming in would have an uphill battle this first year... Again, Pope made sure he trashed everything on his way out... A coach coming from the NBA is going to have an even steeper learning curve.

This is an exciting hire with a huge potential upside. Let's stop panicking and give it time to play out.
