Well this is long overdue. All the excitement and changes around the basketball program have kept me from getting this report out. I’ve wanted to write it up for our loyal subscribers for a while now. This doesn’t have breaking news or anything, but has very important info nonetheless.

First, I’d just like to welcome the hundreds and hundreds of new subscribers who joined in April. It’s great to have you all in our CougConnect community. All the great things we do for players are always evolving and growing. As you stick around I think you’ll really be impressed and enjoy being a part of CougConnect. If you haven’t joined the discord yet I highly recommend it. I’ll drop a link here for you to use to join. Once you join with the link type “ hello ” in the verify channel. Then our bots will verify your email address and get you added.

The real reason for me writing this tonight is to keep you updated on a few things we have been doing to help players. The piece where we help players is what gets me really excited about CougConnect. The needs and requests from them are always different and interesting. In the past month we have helped out by doing the following: we moved a player from one apartment to another (@taco from Discord and I literally moved him ourselves), paid for a player’s Mom to fly out and see her only son graduate from BYU, flew another player home to take care of his Mom who was coming out of the ER and needed help, paid for a player to get alterations for a suit so he could wear it at graduation, bought groceries, and my favorite was to run a player a charging adapter on short notice; so he could charge his car and get un stranded. I know there was a lot more than this too. But this is the kind of stuff that CougConnect does on a regular basis.

The players need this kind of support. They need a grass roots network of fans who can help with things like this. They have trust with the CougConnect community. It goes beyond school and sports too. We have helped place jobs and made valuable referrals for players after they’ve graduated too.

We have also begun to connect our players to mentors recently. There are some very successful and intelligent people who contribute to CougConnect, they have been generous enough to help mentor players and give them some excellent education along the way. I love what we all do. CougConnect is really just a group of passionate and dedicated fans who are here to support the players and talk cougar sports.

Most people only know us for insider reports or posts on Twitter. But CougConnect is a lot more than that. I’m going to start highlighting our “why” more and make some new types of content too. We are also about to roll out some cool new things to bring in more NIL dollars for players.

We have some really amazing people here and the numbers are growing fast. If you’ve been a long time subscriber you know we have great relationships with some great potential recruits as well. It’s no mystery that a strong NIL program or strong NIL reputation can be a big boon in recruiting. If we are able to reach our goals this year we will be able to see some significant players come in and work with CougConnect. Think of the BYU fans you know. Because if we all add two subscribers before the end of football season we are going to have some pretty exciting new players coming into the Discord for Q&A. You can have a direct impact on that, which I think is awesome.

Super grateful for all your efforts in helping the players and helping grow this community. BYU fans are truly amazing. I love bumping into you all and hearing how much you enjoy CougConnect. We have our haters for sure, I know some people go out of their way to fire shots at us. But the truth is CougConnect has never been stronger. I know this is going to be a very large and beneficial community. We are going to do a lot of good, and have a lot of fun along the way. Go Cougs!!
