BYU basketball has two recruiting visits set, sources tell me. France big man Maxim Logue is set to arrive to Utah Sunday night for a Monday visit and UCLA transfer Berke Buyuktuncel is set to arrive Monday night for his visit.

Berke Buyuktuncel

The 6-foot-9 Turkish forward was hobbled by injuries his freshman season, but he showed flashes why is a NBA prospect. Berke started 8 of 26 games he played in for the Bruins, averaging 4.5 and 2.5 boards. Berke can put the ball on the floor and has the ability to knock down the three ball. One industry source compared him to a modern day Toni Kukoc.

Berke is a high upside player with NBA potential; in ESPN’s latest 2025 NBA mock draft they projected him to go 42 overall. Berke was rated a 4-star recruit by 247 Sports in the 2023 class and the #36 overall recruit. He was impressive in international play before his time in UCLA and should be a big addition in whatever program he lands at next.

Berke can play either the 4 or 3 spot. He played mostly the 3 in international play before UCLA, but defensively may be better suited to play the 4 in a high major league. His shooting and ability to put the ball on the floor allow him to play the three or four on offense, but I think in the Big 12 he would matchup better with fours. Based on who BYU likely has leaving before the transfer portal deadline May 12 (deadline for BYU players), I think Berke could get a lot of minutes and start at the four. UCLA was a tough spot to him as he was ineligible to start the year and battled injury, but he is poised to break through as a sophomore and capitalize on the immense promise he showed as an international prospect.

Berke is slated to visit Nebraska after BYU and sources tell me BYU and Nebraska are the two favorites. Berke knows former BYU player Elijah Bryant, who plays professionally in Turkey and has played against the Turkish native. Elijah has been talking with Berke about BYU.

You can watch highlights of Berke below.

Maxim Logue

The 6-foot-9, 18-year-old French player is an elite athlete. Logue plays both the 4 and 5 spots in international play but likely projects more as a 5 man at the college level. Logue projects as a rim-running 5 on offense and a rim protector on defense. Logue is more of a developmental piece, but he would provide depth early on at BYU and develop more as his career progresses. Maxim currently plays for the club Paris Basketball.

Logue is currently on a visit to Creighton. He may not be as high of a target as some other players on BYU’s board, but he has the body and athleticism to turn into a really good player at the college level.

As you can see from the first clip below and his highlights, Logue’s athleticism gives him high upside.
