If you're referencing my previous response to another poster who claimed Carlino is the 3rd best PG BYU has ever had....
Let me just clarify my standing:
1. I think Carlino can still improve dramatically and become a great player for us.
2. Carlino is not great right now. Carlino, as a Sophomore, is much better than last year, but he's still wildly inconsistent. He's been fantastic at times and a no-show in some huge games.
3. It's not fair to compare Carlino (a soph) to other players from the past who have had the luxury of playing 4-5 years of D1 ball. But on the other side of the argument, it's also unrealistic to claim that the Carlino WE KNOW is a top-3 BYU PG.
Bottom line: stats don't tell the whole story. And while I am still very optimistic about Carlino, I'm also not going to look at the stats you just rolled out as 'proof' that Carlino is an all-timer. Can he be? Sure.
