Both my girls would've died if born at home
Both deliveries had sudden emergencies happen, and without the expert care of a full hospital staff they likely would've died.
Also, my SIL shared the following story with me. She and her husband are pediatricians and have to respond to calls when home births go wrong. I don't mean to imply by this story that you and your wife are crazy, like this couple. The takeaway is that you need to seriously research your midwife (references, interview, the whole nine yards).
