In certain African and Middle Eastern countries (I have been involved with several asylum cases on these grounds), but we don't bat an eye when performed on males here.

In the female case the consequences are much more severe. However, is that just said because our culture finds it more acceptable to do to males?

For the record, it isn't something I get worked up about either way.(In the case of males)
