In the birthing rooms you had your own bathroom, shower, large bathtub (used for water births, or for contractions) a queen sized bed, a big comfortable recliner, birthing stool and birthing ball. My midwifes would either help you deliver at home or at the birth center. The rooms were decorated and had the atmosphere of a home and were very comfortable. We opted to have our baby at the birth center because we still wanted the privacy of birthing alone, and not have our other three kids running around and watching the experience.
