premier program. Thus...ALL top athletes will want to go to Utah over BYU. Prop them up because of their league affiliation that they will win over more top LDS recruits than BYU. Doesn't that kind of progaganda during recruiting already support that?
"Come to Utah, where you'll play the best of teams, USC, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, and a National Championship or the Rose Bowl".

"BYU plays Texas and Virginia next year...but, hey, they play in the Emerald Bowl"...."come to Utah...we'll take care of you and you'll play in the pro's."

I think they have a marketing strategy in ALL states that they are in to make the perception that ALL their teams are "elite" and the competing universities....are less so.

That is what I mean by "destroy". The BYU we've known in the past...may not be thought of in the same light after years of that kind of marketing to kids, supporters, communities, high schools, ESPN/media...etc.
