When searching for a loss to blame squarely on the offense,
try not to identify one where the defense gave up 48 pts and allowed the opposing QB to go 30-36 for 303 yards and 4 TD's.

Somehow that just doesn't look the same as a game where the defense didn't allow a single point and we still lost. Or gave up just 16 pts like in the opener to 2006. Or gave up just 3 pts like the Utah game in '03. Those are games you can clearly state that the offense lost.

But for future reference, you can not ever state that a game in which the defense gave up 48 pts that the offense was soley at fault for the loss.

Stanford 18-14, a game where the offense only needed to not turn the ball over in the final minutes to secure a win; Wyoming 13-10 ('nuff said); Utah 13-6 in '02: these are the kinds of games you're looking for.
