Seems like an irrelevant question
The question is how you would choose to fill your time if you didn't have to work, not if you would continue working if they didn't pay you.
All I am suggesting is that people seem to do better when they are being productive and working on something. I would certainly look for some way to be productive (whether that means working for pay or not).
