My daughter just bought a $279 Chromebook for college.
It does everything she needs it to do.
Pros: battery life, speed, simplicity, no viruses and no need to update or install anything. She does homework assignments online on Flash-based sites.
Cons: no Word or PowerPoint. She is using Goggle Docs as a substitute. Printing can be tricky.
