I just got a phone call about a family moving in from their former ward EQP
I knew they were coming, but didn't know when. So, he told me they will be moving in tomorrow AM at 9:00, and asked if we could get some people to help out. I said, "Look, I'm going to be straight with you: 9:00 am on a Wednesday with 12 hours or so notice (ok, so it's 15.5 hours) is probably not going to result in a lot of people there."

He was kind of surprised I said such a thing, but then said, "Well, I figured you could maybe get some of your retired high priests."

"Well, retired high priests really aren't often that healthy or able help much."

I told him we would do what we can, and get the word out, but they shouldn't expect to see more than maybe one or two guys.

Sorry if I was honest and realistic. He seemed bugged at me. Was that un-Christian of me?
