Harvey Jackson, Kenau Nelson, Nick Kurtz, Devin Blackmon, Jordan Leslie...
These guys represent a monumental shift in how BYU is recruiting, and the guys they are now able to land, even if 3 are just for 1 season. It really all started with Jamaal Williams and that get has paid off huge dividends. Coach Holliday has also been very instrumental. And of course, Martzen has a lot to do with it now as well.
Even if guys like Jackson and Nelson come here and are fringe players for BYU for the 1 season they come, they are also trailblazing for BYU showing that it is a good place for guys that normally do not choose BYU to come here to Provo to play football. The culture is different, but in some ways to some kids, that is a positive. BYU is embracing it, and finally has the pieces in place to make use of it on the recruiting trail.
If these guys do well for BYU, kids will notice even more, and it pay off even larger dividends in recruiting. Then on the field on game day.
