Talked to a number of players at the Spring Game
I love the Spring Game, not so much for the game, but for the opportunity my son has to talk to players and get their autographs. He has about 25 autographs on the back of his shirt. It's something he'll keep for years. If you have kids and they like sports, I highly recommend the Spring Game. We've done it the last couple of years. My son came away on Cloud 9 both times.

Anyway, I digress. I had a chance to chat with a few players, and make some observations.

Nick Kurtz - Seems like a really great kid. Very comfortable in his own skin. Seemed eager to chat about the upcoming season. Regardiing football, he said his biggest challenge has been stamina. He gets tired very easily. He said at the JC level, practices aren't all that intense. Guys get by on talent more than hard work because the coaches don't really demand the effort from the players. At BYU, the effort level required is on a whole new level. He felt like his play suffered a bit because he would tire out easily.

Tuni Kanuch - Wasn't as big as I expected. Not all that tall. (not reallly an issue since he'll play OG). Didn't seem all that wide either. If he is 300+ lbs, he carries his weight well. Legs were like tree trunks, though. I asked him who he expected to start. He said Fusi for sure. Said Fusi has made by far the most improvement since last year.

Taysom Hill - He's clearly the star of the team now. Had the most media attention by far. Still made time to come over and sign a shirt, but the demands on his time are going to be heavy from here on out. He looks bigger than last year. More like a linebacker than a safety.

Robertson Daniel - Very personable kid. The size difference between Daniel and the other CBs is so noticeable, its almost funny. He towers over guys like Trammell. He's pretty sure he'll play safety, but he said there is still a possibility he'll play CB.

Khalil Bell - I had a chance to talk to him for awhile. I asked how he is doing at BYU. He said, "Much better than before." It was quite the culture shock when he first came. It sounded like he really struggled personally his first semester, but that he has adjusted and is doing better.

Deondre Wesley - He is a HUGE man. That is all.

Algernon Brown - Great kid. Very personable and willing to talk. The guy is built like a house. Seemed VERY excited for the upcoming season. Said being another year removed from his mission will make a huge difference for him. Last year he had mission legs. Those are now gone. Did I mention that he was built like a house? Seriously.

Michael Davis - Seemed very happy to be back at receiver. He expects to contribute this year.

We talked to several others, but nothing really stood out.
