Thanks. After winning the Gold in 1912, he was the #1 U.S. athlete

in the High Jump, the Long Jump, and the Decathalon as the 1916 Olympics drew near. He was considered the best athlete on the American Olympic team. As the wiki article mentions, the 1916 games were canceled due to WWI.

He won a Gold Medal in the Olympics while a BYU student.
