so, it looks like the fuel filter is part of the pump assembly
but it is still possible to buy the filter separate. Should I just take it out and clean and see if that solves the problem before I throw down $200+ on a new pump? According to a couple of web pages I've read, the filter is warrantied for the life of the pump.
