I don't know many people who want to legalize meth. It is clearly dangerous.

Marijuana is the main point. The vast majority of "illegal drug users" are pot smokers. It is not healthy, but it is not dangerous either. If you legalized pot, you would dramatically decrease the money going into drug cartels. The hardcore users are a much smaller population.

Look what happened when we criminalized alcohol. You turned most Americans into criminals for private consumption, and organized crime grew like weeds.
