This is not exclusive to college football players I think this happens with med students too, where part of what girls are attracted too is security and if it looks like somebody is going to make a lot of money that can make that person more attractive.

I just think it could put a weird strain on the relationship if potential football career didn't pan out. This probably also happens if med student decides he wants to do social work instead.
