For the past few years I have been putting my 401k contributions into a traditional 401k with Vanguard and diversifying into multiple accounts. I am now considering moving my distributions from a traditional to a Roth. If I do this will I be on the hook this tax year to pay the taxes on the tax deferred amount or is there a way to keep the amount as tax deferred for a period of time?
