I dropped my 4 yr old at her friends house this afternoon so I could get some homework done. about 40 minutes later my wife came home from shopping with her friend and the phone rang. The girl's mother called and said "can you come over here? I can't find your daughter and I'm starting to freak out".

we bolted out the door and ran to her house. we couldn't find her either. I told my wife to call the police and took off around the block calling my daughter's name. She was nowhere in site. Pretty soon people were coming out of their houses to see what was going on and several got in their cars and started driving around looking for her. The police came and as I widened my search to 4 square blocks I was getting pretty freaked out. finally I got a call from my wife that they found her.

she was in the friend's house the whole time playing hide-and-go-seek. normally she can't stay quiet enough to play the game and gives away her position almost immediately.
Today however, she waited almost 40 minutes. can't get mad at he for playing hide-and-go-seek, but holy crap. we're never playing that game again.
