My daughter disappeared twice on me. Once was almost an exact same experience as yours where she was playing hide and seek and forgot to tell anyone she was playing. She was 4 at the time. The second time was when she was 2. We were at the mall and she always got shy when it was time to do her business in her diaper. She quietly went around a service counter in a store and we thought she had walked out of the store. We ended up running around the mall looking for her and one of the employees in the original store found her hidden well behind their counter and some boxes. It was a good 10 minutes and was NOT a fun experience. Very sick to my stomach in the moment. I hope her bowel movement was worth all the grief that put us through.
