Earlier today, SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket with a Dragon capsule to resupply the ISS. I understand that the first stage was going to test it's landing procedures by restarting its engines to slow down and lower itself down to a hover with landing legs just over the ocean before it went in.
It will be cool when they actually try a landing for real, hopefully later this year. If they can perfect the technology it will dramatically lower the cost of launching cargo into orbit.
Any SpaceX or NASA insiders on the board?
