This is exactly what evaded both Sloan and Corbin in terms of defensive approach. This quote understands defensive efficiency and the modern approach on how to achieve that. You have to defend the interior and the 3pt line first, since those are the highest value shots on the floor. Then you have to do so without fouling so the other team can't create value at the line.

I'm majorly on the Longabardi bandwagon at this point.
