this a formality? does she really have a 'lock' on this? if so, going at her will only make your life difficult..
But if it's a fair round of interviews, I think it perfectly agreeable to consider examples of 'disasters' and use that as a question for, "This situation didn't work out well after your decision, what would you do differently?"
Those kind of questions should be fair game, that's why many 'interim' people don't get the job in the end.. they don't show they can manage the responsibility.
