You know, we always tend to scoff at how quickly Hollywood portrays
an deadly pandemic. Would a deadly virus really travel that fast and that far? Yes, yes it would. It's probably not a coincidence that we here on the east coast just went through a stomach virus and now you in the west are experiencing the same thing.

And the speed with which it travels all over town is amazing. Somebody at school "A" gets it. Passes it to other students who have after school karate or sports. It gets passed on to other schools just from the students. The students pass it on to their parents, who take it with them to work locations all over the city. Then there are religious services on the weekends. And then one of those parents gets on a plane to commute.

Since it's just a stomach virus and not deadly, we deal with it. Have to wonder what we'd do if it were deadly. How quickly would we shut things down to keep it from spreading?
