I think Embiid's ceiling is much higher than Kanter......
but I also think he has a much higher "bust" potential than Kanter. Considering the stats that Kanter put up this season as a 21-year-old, I think its safe to assume that his "floor" as an NBA player is somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 points and 8-9 rebounds a game as a starter. He's a relatively efficient offensive player (again, especially given his age), other than the fact that for a big man he doesn't get to the line very often. The biggest knock I have against him as a Center is that he doesn't affect the game very much on the defensive end. I don't feel like he's a terrible position defender, but he doesn't appear to have a knack for shot blocking. Paired with Favors, that isn't the most important deficiency, possibly.

On the other hand, Embiid COULD be a total washout. Maybe he's the next Greg Oden. Maybe he's the next Hasheem Thabeet. But MAYBE he ends up being 80% of Hakeem Olajuwon. Maybe at his peak he's a first-team All-NBA Center who averages 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks a game. That is way higher than Kanter's ceiling IMO.
