It doesn't lather as well, but gives great glide for the razor. This, along with the mineral oil, should help. Don't cut across your lip -- though you might be tempted to do so to get a clean shave. You can only really go down on the upper lip and up on the lower lip. The key is no pressure at a slight angle.
