stucco breathe. There are so many specialty products these days that it's hard to keep up with all of them. Builders are probably just using one of the specialty paints. Unfortunately, they develop them so quickly that they don't spend too much time testing them. Sometimes, you don't know how well the product works until its been on a house for 10 years.
