Perpetuates the prevailing idea that the Utes play for a conference, not a team

I think this is detrimental to their fan base. Their conference affiliation pride has overcome their pride for their team. Contrast that with any team that has their own history. Utah is like Kentucky or Vandy fans - they are more proud of their conference than of their own team.
