Aggie intern just told me that USU will be getting more money from the
new playoff than BYU and somehow tried to use that to suggest that USU was more valuable than BYU. Apparently, each MWC team's payout will be $1.2M while each Independent's payout will only be something like $350K. He was telling me this as if to say that USU was now a wealthier program than BYU with their "huge" new found revenue. He even said that BYU should "stop being so prideful and come back to the MWC where they'd be better off."

I just responded by saying that BYU makes almost twice that much in ticket sales alone every single home game, plus they get paid more in TV revenue than MWC schools so it would take a lot more than $1.2M (actually, $850K) to make the MWC financially worthwhile.

He didn't believe the ticket thing, but I've heard that BYU makes about $2M per game in ticket sales. That would be an avg. ticket price of about $32 which sounds right to me. Anyone know what the real numbers are?
