Anybody gone Crayfish/Crawdad fishing at Strawberry lately? Questions for you...
Where did you go? Best places? Bait?

Here's my setup. I have two cages that were minnow traps that I opened the holes a bit more to let the 'dads in. I'm bringing plenty of raw chicken legs to put in the trap and, also, to tie on to some string. I'll have two traps out and two or three legs tied to strings as well. I'm hoping to catch several hundred of them to make some delicious pasta or just plain dip them in butter. We went in May and only caught 12 or so near the Soldier Creek dam but that was early. The guy I was camping with said that in July you could catch 100 per hour at that same location. That seems high to me but he goes up there a lot more than I do.

Suggestions?

P.S. I'll be fishing for trout too. I usually use powerbait and have some success but I'm willing to try something new.
