The rules specify certain weights for each age group and if a player is over that weight they can only play the line on offense. On defense there are differing rules as to where the X-man can play. Some leagues require them to be D-linemen, and some allow them to play any position on defense.

There are some leagues in other states that allow players of any weight to play any position on offense and defense.
