RE: I woke up really early in the morning to take my boy fishing. I can only
I have the same memories that you have with my dad and grandfather.

I was young, and my grandfather asked if I wanted to come to the farm for the weekend, and he would take me fishing. I went, and he took me to the lake the next day. Same as you, as a youngster, I'm sure I would get bored 'waiting' to catch a fish, and my attention span was not what it could be.

But, I always enjoyed him talking to me, telling me about his childhood, about my mom growing up and life.

My grandfather passed away the very next day. I have forever been grateful that I accpeted that particular invite to go fishing with him. Me and my grandpa...good memories.

My dad growing up was also a fishing extraordinaire. We went fishing every chance we got. He too, would tell me stories about growing up, his childhood, our family, life.... we would take float tubes out on the lake..we would take float tubes out at night! Have some great memories with my pops. He's lost most of his vision now, so we can't go fishing. I'm thinking that I want to take him out on a charter for salmon. They practically do everything for you except reel it in...he would enjoy that I think.

Good for you to make these memories. I have only girly girls and they cry when I catch a fish and want the fish to not fight so he won't hurt. Ugh...princesses.
