There's no bigger damper on reputation than being completely invisible.

at least winning a second-tier tourney more often than not keeps them in conversations. When a P5 comes looking for expansion teams I can't imagine how this would change BYU's status. Till then why not stay as relevant as possible at any level?

If we can't win a second-tier tourney on a regular basis then we don't deserve to be in a P5 conversation anyway.
