Have you looked at the Toyota Highlander with the optional 3rd row? It gets slightly better mileage than the Sienna, and has a higher towing capacity, but the 3rd row looks kind of cramped.

If you're okay with a used vehicle, the 2003 (first year with 3rd row) was going in the $7000-8000 range when I was looking for a vehicle last year.
