My take on the future of Utah football.
I posted this in another thread but didn't want to take that thread in another direction, though those types of thread do that on their own anyway.

I think Utah football is destined to wither in the Pac12. I expect them to be a Duke, Iowa state, Vanderbilt or Minnesota. I think Kryle will be fired next year after his 4th straight losing season and that his replacement will over reach on recruiting while alienating LDS recruits and their families. The talent this coach brings will seem like an improvement but over time will be getting mostly the leftovers of the other 9 teams that are better than Utah.

There will be more character issues and arrests than normal, even for Utah, and RMs like Langi will have an easy choice jumping ship to BYU, unless they don't mind sexual assaults, drugs and DUIs. This will lead to even more futility and then another coach. It will be just like basketball was at Utah but will take much longer to turn around. It will be a dumpster fire and all the while the handful of true Utah fans that will stick around and the local media will still hold conference membership as a trump card over BYU 100% independent of any on the field results.

I think Utah might avoid this by getting a home run hire. Problem is that Utah is not a destination for HC's and it will be tough to get an Urban Meyer who wants to stay long term. They also might be able to make it work with someone like Sitake. Someone who is LDS, is liked by players, is from or very familiar with Utah and who just gets how things work there.
