Why are Dow or S&P record highs a big deal?
Whenever one of them reaches a new record, the media talks about it like it's an amazing event. Shouldn't there be near-constant record highs in a healthy economy? It's almost like beaming about record high population. Unless you live in Russia, that should be a given. A better indicator to the markets would be rate of growth.

Just some random thing that bothers me when I hear it all the time.
