It's falling in line with the other FBS conferences. The only thing standing in the P5's way now is the FCS (122 schools) and the non-football schools (98). There is no guarantee how they will vote. The NCAA TV contract runs for another 10 years and everyone suspects that the P5 won't leave during the current contract if things don't go as expected. The rest of D1 may just vote no, take their cut for the next ten years, and try to figure out something for 2025 and beyond. If the non-football schools vote as a block, it would only take 31 FCS schools to join them and veto autonomy. It was a combination of the two groups ones who torpedoed the 2011 agreement to pay $2,000 stipends to full scholarships athletes. That vote spurred the P5 to adopt their current stance.
