You can't walk through a mall without seeing pictures of shirtless male models, where every single last one of them has a chiseled chest and washboard abs. And I've found that in general, society seems to deem is less inappropriate for girls to gawk at these kinds of pictures than guys to look at similarly-styled pictures of girls. The majority of girls care more about looks than they want to let on, and want to find a perfect-in-every-way guy who loves her imperfections perfectly, also known as the-twilight-syndrome. It's tough to be a guy who is athletic yet smart, an alpha-male yet chivalrous, fun yet righteous, patriarchal yet sensitive and considerate etc. etc.
I don't post this to diminish the trials girls face in today's toxic society. I have two younger sisters, and I see the effects pop culture has on them. But let's not pretend guys don't face similar, often contradicting messages.
