to be driven 100-150 miles to have the sensors reset?
I'm looking to buy a 2012 Acadia with low miles <25,000. The car was part of a rental fleet, so obviously there is some concern about the condition of the vehicle, but they allow you to do a 3 day test drive for a low price (lower than actually renting the car) and if you like it you can apply it to your purchase or just pay for the 3 day rental. I plan on taking it to a mechanic and have them check it out.
Here's the issue, I haven't actually seen the vehicle yet and don't want to drive 2 hrs to go pick it up if it's not in good shape. We were scheduled to go pick it up last weekend, but couldn't because it wouldn't pass a smog test. Now they are saying, go ahead and come pick it up because the only reason it wouldn't pass a smog test is because it needs to be driven 150 miles to have the sensors reset. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that a 2012 Acadia with low miles can't pass a smog test? Should I even be considered buying a vehicle that was part of a rental fleet?
