Should this cable work connecting my tv to sound bar?
I don't want to type out the whole reason as to why but I need to connect my tv to my sound bar using this cable.

TV output is headphone jack out. Soundbar in is optical audio in.
Should this work or does it need to connect to some sort of converter? If it does need some sort of converter than why does this cord exist?
