Good points. Btw, there's no way pocketing my earnest deposit would be bad for
them. It's a bit over $20k. There's no way it'd cost them that much to put the house back on the market and wait for someone else to buy it (they're into the next phase and prices have gone up). The only advantage I'd have is that the sales rep we used is now at another development (but same builder, so she's still involved with us), so she would definitely lose out on money (no way she can sell it to someone else now that she's elsewhere).
