Question for those of you who live in Utah with no immediate family
My wife and I have chatted off and on but never seriously considered a move to Utah. She grew up in Southern California, I grew up in Texas, and our parents still live in those states.

Our siblings (12 combined) are scattered across the U.S., and we've lived in CA, OR, WI, NJ, and MN in our married life (after meeting at BYU).

We're on vacation in Utah this week, and maybe it's the mountain air at night, maybe it's comparing how far our money would go, and maybe it's the thought of being close to BYU sports and extended family, but we started wondering what it would be like to live here.

So here's my question...for those of you not originally from Utah and without parents in the state, how have you found it raising kids in Utah? The stereotypes (among others) are 1) It's harder to make friends b/c everyone has family 2) It's hard to adjust to everyone being Mormon and losing some uniqueness/identity that way.

But I'm curious how that jives with your experiences. What are the pros/cons for transplants?
