In 1984 we were the first and only "mid major" to beat the system and win a National Championship. Something BSU, TCU and Utah couldn't do...they were good in their prime, but we were great. BYU has the tradition and program to wreck the system again-
What we have going for us-
*Our Defense as of late has been solid
*Not having Utah this year. They prepared for us as a bowl game knowing they weren't going to get in a real bowl game. Good for them as well because now they can focus on winning in the PAC12 and not define their season by beating BYU.
*Schedule is mediocre....other than Texas our other games are winnable and we do oddly have Texas' number for some reason.
*ESPN TV exposure. We have just as much exposure as the next guy to convince the Playoff committee if we are good. We are actually in a better position than the PAC12 schools who play late on the West Coast and thus the voters in the East don't see them as much.
What we need-
*No injury to Taysom Hill. We can take injuries at any position but the QB position. Our WRs are deep and our RBs are deep.
*An O-Line.....without them showing up this season again (See UW bowl game) Taysom will eventually get hurt
*Robert Anae to figure out the Xs and Os to score in the "Blue Zone"
I think this is possible as long as we can get by Texas who really has it out for us this year.
