See if anyone has an old non working one you can have. Then exchange it for
a new tank (refurbished and full) at any of those propane exchange places.
An exchange is around $20.
A new one is around $50 IIRC.

Just got a barbecue. What is the best place to buy a propane tank?

Your local grocery store. By the ones you exchange.

Why wouldn't you just fill it at a gas station? Isn't it cheaper.

Exchange is great if you have an empty tank that is expired.
