Perhaps, but I just don't see it that way. I just don't see the P5 guys,
and let's not fool ourselves as the selection committee was picked by and answers to the P5, but I just don't see them being swayed by the argument that since #24 "G5 University" gets to go to a NY day bowl, then BYU should get to go to one, too. The G5 has their agreement, BYU does not.
Hypothetically speaking, #6 BYU will be competing with #10 Wisconsin, #11 Oregon, and #12 Oklahoma State. Those will be the schools we have to make an argument against, not the guaranteed G5 school which only makes it harder for BYU to grab one of the fewer available at-large spots.
