When I hear a player mention leaving early, I have to think he is hearing
what the peanut gallery is selling him. John Walsh all over again? Let hope not.

Hopefully KC has better advisers than JW and people that will tell him something other than what he wants to hear.

Having said that, my son is friends with KC and my son says KC is all business and a VERY driven individual. I like his game and unlike others, I believe he can improve his shooting.

I also laugh when people use him as a PF to argue "he'll never play PF in the NBA" Well, duh. Thanks Captain Obvious. He won't be drafted to play PF, but if the lineup or a matchup dictates that he play PF for few minutes here and there, we know he is much stronger than your average 6'6" guard or even SF, so he is capable of doing such on a limited basis. That's called versatility. No one in their right mind thinks a team is going to slot him in as a PF.

Finally, anyone that thinks it would be a mistake for him to leave early if he was getting solid advice that he's a first round pick, I ask "why?" Will leaving early hinder his future basketball prospects? I seriously doubt that. He will make millions in the NBA IF he's a 1st round pick. I personally think KC has a long career in the Russian league and will make enough doing that to live off for a lifetime. But 1 more year of school won't make or break that opportunity, unless he does suffer another knee injury. You do remember what happened to his brothers basketball career? With a degree from BYU, KC would likely start off earning what his classmates earn, $40-70k a year. Not bad, but surely not what being a first round NBA draft pick will earn you.

Don't get sucked into "Jimmers NBA career has been a flop" when he has earned more in his few years than 98% of BYU graduates will earn in an entire career. I'd call that wildly successful. If KC can be a first round pick, he'd be a fool not to leave early IMHO.
