Each winter they wisely counsel ute fan, patience, that they, the wise media were well aware that it was a process and they had fully anticipated the difficulties that would come in joining a P5 Conference. The truth is far from this.

Year one USC was on probation, Oregon was looking at probation, the local hacks were discussing how the spot atop the conference was open and Utah was the team to claim it. Heard at least two radio guys go thru their schedule and say they couldn't find a loss.

Year two preseason the talk was how Utah was a play or two from the CCG. Most local writers picked them to win the South.

By year 3, preseason hype was more subdued but with the influx of P12 recruits most local media were talking about a 9 win season.

This year, surprisingly optimism is again. I am hearing this could be the most talented ute team ever, and that this team was few plays from 9 wins last year.

Can't wait for January and them reminding us all that it is a process.
