Southwest Airline points predicament
I have 4750 southwest points and my wife has 2300. I need to fly from DEN to SLC in November and I have been watching ticket prices closely. They have been hanging at or about 4752 points ($88) each way for many weeks. The only time they change is when they go up to 5000-something for a day. I seem to recall this route going on sale for like $59 fairly often, but I haven't seen it drop that low since I started checking daily like a month ago. So here is the question:

Since I need 4 measly points to be able to use my points to purchase one of the tickets, do I:

A) Spend $20 to transfer 2000 of my wife's points to my account and then spend $83 to buy 3000 points, and use points to buy the tickets (total cost $103 for round trip)
B) Wait longer and hope the price drops so I can use my points for one way and the buy the other direction for $59-$88, but risk waiting too long and the price going up? (total cost $59-$88 for round trip)
C) Some combination of the above
